Pay: Stipend paid biweekly

We are seeking a hospitality / tourism management intern for our unique glamping location.

Internship will take place on-site at SōLSTAY Retreat and Marina in Sandusky, OH.

Responsibilities and Duties:

-Handles day-to-day operations of the property, including the front desk/ convenience store.

-Assist with housekeeping operations. This will include units turns, scheduling and inventory management.

-Manage direct bookings. This includes online direct bookings, OTAs and bookings over the phone.

-Assist with content creation and posting on social media platforms.

-Assist with event planning, implementing and follow-up.

-Maintains a presentable front desk and enhances the customer experience through appearance and customer service.

-Regular and dependable punctuality.

-Communicates clearly and in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications:

-Available to report May thru August 2024.

-High School diploma or equivalent.

-Current enrollment in an Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree program.

-A cumulative 3.0 GPA minimum.

-Experience utilizing basic math skills with ability to add, subtract multiply and divide.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports.

-Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.

-Schedules will include working evenings, weekends and holidays.

Job Description:

Seasonal Employment (May-September)

Pay: starts at $17/hour

Responsibilities & Duties:

-Maintain all cleaning equipment, supplies, and products; ensure safe and sanitary storage and care of products

-Perform general sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping of hardwood, laminate, or tiled floors as needed

-In charge of vacuuming equipment; vacuum and clean carpets and perform further treatments such as shampoo or stain-removal as needed

-Dispose of trash from bins and containers

-Dust and polish furniture and room accessories as needed

-Scrub sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers, and toilets in private and public bathrooms

-Change linens and gather used linens such as sheets or towels for laundering

-Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as needed

-Keep all public spaces neat and tidy

-Report repairs and replacements needed when encountered

Housekeeping Requirements:

-Previous experience as a housekeeper or in another professional cleaning role

-High school degree or equivalent

-Working knowledge of the English language

-The ability to work efficiently while meeting company standards

-The ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision

-The physical stamina and strength needed to stand and work for 4-5 hours each day

-Available to work weekends and holidays

Schedule is based on number of turns needed to be completed
